How do I silence and reset an alarm?
Silence and Reset
All water alarms will need to be silenced and reset. This is a two step process as outlined below.
Alarm Silence
- Press and release the middle button on the device.
OR
- Through the Trident Platform, send a remote silence message to the endpoint that is in alarm. There may be a delay as this message will be sent at the next heartbeat.
Once silenced, the endpoint is in a lockout period. The device will not be sensing for water for the period of time determined by the lockout variable (default 30mins). After a reset occurs, the device will be live. TDG recommends manually resetting all devices after a silence. Alarm Reset
- Allow the lockout variable to expire. By default, this is 30mins after a silence. (Auto-reset)
- After a silence, press and hold the middle button for ~12 seconds till you hear a second beep (Manual reset).

After an alarm has been responded to, it is best practice to log into the Trident Platform and confirm that all 4 stages of the alarm leak life cycle have a time stamp. In addition, you should define the alarm to capture any pertitent information for your team.

If an alarm event triggered a valve closure based on a valve group, the valve will need to be opened. The alarm details page will indicate if a valve closure occured.
