TDG does not recommend the remote silence feature as a best practice as you are not verifying the alarm in person and there could be an issue that needs to be addressed. We recommend responding to all alarms in person. With this said, we understand that at times, sending a remote silence to a device is necessary.
A Remote Silence message can be sent to a device that is in alarm.
The alarm event needs to show leak cleared on the summary of the alarm event in order send a remote silence successfully. If an alarm is not showing leak cleared, the device will go back into alarm.
In order to send a remote silence you will need to login to the Trident Platform and navigate to the alarm event.
Once on the alarm event page, navigate to the Messaging tab. There you will find the option to send command through the remote silence feature.
