If and endpoint (sensor or valve controller) is missing but still in communication, you can send a remote message to it called a Ping, to help locate the device. A ping message will make an audible tone for a set number of minutes before resetting and going back to a normal operation.
A Ping Message is associated with the variable ping duration interval. By default, the ping duration variable is 5 Minutes. If you wish to change the ping duration, this will need to be done prior to sending a ping message.
To send a ping message, navigate to the Messaging tab on a device details page and select Ping from the dropdown. Select Send message
The Message history will auto-update as the message is sent and you will see the following message statuses.

The message will be received at the next device heartbeat. For a sensor, this may be up to an hour.
- Queued
- SBS Received
- Hub Received
- Received (by the endpoint)
