How do I remove a device from Trident?

If a device is missing or needs to be removed from the Trident Platform you can change the device Status. Changing a device to a removed state will remove it from reports, notifications, and groups. It is important to understand the 3 different states a device can be in.
  1. Active- (Default) Devices will be active in reports, notifications and within notification or valve groups.
  2. Temporarily Removed- Device will be removed from reports and notifications. A temporarily removed device will still show in a notification or valve group but will have a temporarily removed flag indicating that it will not trigger a valve closure or notify in the event of an alarm . Changing the status back to active will automatically add a temporarily removed device back into any previously assigned notification or valve groups with no other steps needed.
  3. Permanently Removed- Device will be removed from reports and notifications. A permanently removed device will be unselected from any notification or valve groups. Changing the status back to active will require you to assign it, manually, to any relevant notification or valve groups.
When possible, we recommend removing the batteries from a device when the status is changed on Trident. This will prevent any re-registrations from the device which can cause the device to automatically go back to an Active status.
Below- The Device Overview defaults to Active devices. To view removed devices, you will have to select the filter for the appropriate status.

Devices that have a removed status will be indicated with the banner seen below, on their device details page.

The image below is of a notification group with a temporarily removed device. Notice that the device is still selected however it is indicated as being in a temporarily removed status. Once you change the status back to active, it will be live in the notification group again. The device checkbox would not be selected if it were permanently removed.
